This should let you catch up on whats going, and allow you to gauge whats going on in the future. I wont post much further ahead since I dont want to get boxed in, or force people to look at some post somewhere all the time. I will keep up with it, and I will replace it with various tags which will link to the blog post corresponding... there might be more examples of what I expect!
[Guide] [Vic Impression] [_____'s impression] (these will only be used if more than 1 is posted) [Tips] [Contest]
Since I can allow others to publish maybe I can geet another staff member... and if im really lucky an editor!
here are some of the idea's already stated and what you will see -> http://admiralvic.blog131.fc2.com/blog-entry-179.html
as I posted here was the format for impressions
Story
Gameplay
Wild Card (usually something random I feel to note)
Trophies (how many you can get playing 1 cycle without trying too hard, and how they made me feel... I mean some just feel tedious)
Likes
Dislikes
Bullet point (general overview of the most important things, making the rest optional)
I thought I would expand on them a bit, simply because I want to make sure people understand the format over just going "thats the way he does it"
Story: A lot of games have good stories, and a lot more have bad stories. while a lot of things can go either way, this is just to say how worthwhile I felt it was.
Gameplay: the most important part if you ask me, just going to explain whats going on, not much else... Each game will get different things obviously.
Wild Card: This is just whatever I feel is important to note, like difficulty in a game, or how accessible it is for an importer, or something like that.
Trophies: There are a lot of games with good ones, bad ones, and tedious ones... Figured I would add it so you can just get it from thee source. lol
Likes: just whatever aspects I felt were good, they could have been stated but ill try not to.
Dislikes: Same as above.
Bullet point: a restate of everything I said, but only the most important aspects so you can speed read.
Again, there will be no scores or reviews!!!!
Finally heres my goal, its to have the place going and to have enough people to JUSTIFY a contest by the holidays. I will expand on anything if you wish to know more!

Lora Croft Impression!
def not a game I expected to be playing, it comes out on tuesday and figured I might as well give you an idea a little ahead of time ^^;;
Story: really there is no story... there is a small thing at the start, and upon half way there have been some minor things of a guy screaming generic villian crap...
Gameplay: the game moves from what I recall tomb raider being (uncharted) to more of a zombie apoc like game. While this is good, the gameplay feels dull... you really either shoot or do the puzzle, most of which are not that puzzling or special... really most boil down to tossing a spear and jumping, or using the bomb in some special way.
there are some things to change up the pace IE challenge rooms, but so far I've only encountered 1 which wasnt basic shit like shoot 1 thing, then toss a spear over and then jump... really bland and unoriginal!
later on, I noticed there were path you could "lock yourself" out of, in 1 room there are 7 balls you need, and I only got 6 and couldnt figure out how to get #7 so i ran around till i tried standing on it which worked... personally I find that more annoying than fun but thats just me...
Difficulty: I was playing on hard since theres 2 ???? trophies, neither of which are beat hard =.= but its really... easy, the hardest aspects are figuring out the traps which are a pain in the ass at times... but some things like the super cool spider queen I beat before she could even get to me with ease =\... on hard... on my first try...
Trophies: you should get 7/12 doing a full SP run, and all but the gold playing MP objectively. as far as difficulty, their more annoying than fun... Maybe its just me but I hate HUGE gaps... dont you?
every level has a point challenge, and every level has 10 red skulls, none of them are hard, and really some levels are just 1 room (boss battle stage like 5?) you figure you get 2 silvers for doing them once, and then 1 gold for doing them 10+ times + tons of minor task... Yeah fuck that =\
as far as the challenges, their not too bad, though you will need to play CYCLES... sadly some of them just require you to know what you're doing. Some of them are like beat the stage in 9 mins and I clock in at 31... Maybe im just really bad/weak XD but I just find this quite annoying, though nothing is too difficult.
Likes:
Action heavy
lots of weapons
mini challenges give you a bit more to do
Dislikes:
poison guys are annoying
the poison pods explode in chains which easily can kill you
some of the challenges are Fuck You annoying
not a lot of things are explained
a lot of the puzzles are solved by quick actions in simple ways...
Bullet point's:
Fun to play since there's tons to shoot.
Trophies are a pain, due to some of the challenges being hard and repetitive.
Lots of puzzles... but boil down to 1 or 2 general solutions.
Limited replayability, lets face it... when most of the puzzles are simple outside a speed/point run there's nothing.
Some tasks/monsters are just annoying.
Not very difficult.
Short.
Lots of weapons and customization however very little of it is very different.

Possible format of impressions
I was thinking since today I am going to post my 2 cents on the lora croft game... might as well come up with the format ^^;;

Trophies (how many you can get playing 1 cycle without trying too hard, and how they made me feel... I mean some just feel tedious)

a little more of the future plans
so I read brits comment... just a reminder, I get an email any time anyone posts ^^;; so I assure you I atleast read every comment if not reply.
"Why not just re-vamp this and change it to how u "want" it to be? 2 blogs seem too much in terms of accessibility (altho id check both equally same), someone might just visit one more than the other? In terms of content, make use of the "catergory" option and just sort new journals like 'tips' into their catergory, etc etc? =)
Either that or have the blog n get a small forum thing and attach it to it :)"
1) Really this is how I want it to be, but sometimes you have to accept that people dont care about my fights with people over the EULA, and my casual encounters like that gay black gentleman I told some people about.
2) The plan is to just keep this going for really me/you/anyone who might care, but as far as anyone else is concern this place would be only for those who know of it, and care. nothing more.
3) Its more people dont want to see it, not that it doesnt exist.
4) Maybe in the future... but I see the forum being dead if I had one so no real use.
now expanding on the actual idea... this is still just "an idea" and what if anything comes from it is completely up in the air. However I felt that maybe I should map out more of what I am talking about, than doing absolutely nothing.
Things to add/expand on:
Trophy guides: I wtite them, and WILL ONLY write them for things that are unpopular, logically I will not know the best way to do every single last game, and honestly as long as its doable its not too bad. Of course im not going to go...
Spelunker Easy Plat Method! (heres how you would do MP)
load the game, and play offline, once you run out of lifes have someone jump in and you will gain 5 lifes, keep playing till you have zero then kill them off... rinse and repeat.
Yes, it would work, and Yes its enough to plat... but its ungodly tedious and overly ineffective... the same can be said for a lot of games, however I will just say what I see.
Now some may ask why I will guide small games, and it IS a legit question.
Pachi Para, No More Heroes, gundam 0081, dark awake, miku, Ikki, wizardry (never even seen a trophy), raystorm, tales of vesperia, spelunker, spelunker black, etc
all either have REALLY poor guides, or no guide at all... I feel bad for people since they may or may not want these games, yet will be lost at what to do! thats why I take the time to make sure any guide that I do actually make is quality. This will remain now and forever!
Tips: I dont recall if I ever actually made any, but I like to play games on release and damn it! sometimes it might take people a while to release some things... When Hokuto Musou was out, I figured out jagi's gun used hokuto shinken (5,000 kills needed for 1 trophy) and it was VERY easy to farm. by the time I finished my guide, AND plated the game... they still didnt even agree if jagi could use hokuto shinken =\ so I will try to release tips, when I can.
Impressions: If this gets a lot of support, I guess I might come up with a guideline. If I do actually make impressions im not going to go "well fat princess is only 15 usd, thus its allowed to be shitty" by that logic... anything you can get for less is acceptable at some dollar amount... lol. I happened to see copies of dark void for 10 usd at target yesturday... for 10 usd its a good value, for 60 its horrid! but these are NOT legit reasons to mark a game up or down!!!
Sonic adventure, spelunker, earthworm jim, monkey island, gundemonium collection, puzzle fighter, raystorm, etc
were all at some point "full games" on some level. Spelunker is a longer and better done version of the original featuring nothing from the original game but concept and its better! jim was a genesis game, monkey island was PC, sonic was dreamcast, puzzle fighter was Saturn, etc
Just because Puzzle Fighter is 10 now, doesnt mean 10 years ago it wasnt more nor does it mean that it should be paired up against something like lead and gold, which is new.
my impressions will be better than say "http://playstationlifestyle.net/2010/09/24/ps3-review-dead-rising-2" I mean I read it and felt like I just got useless filler LOL... Does anything there really sway your interest to buy the game? I doubt it.
Regulated updates: One thing people complained about was they didnt know when to check, Ideally I will have a list of planned titles... Usually if its planned I will have it day 1 - 3 or earlier. Thus I would like to say... every wednesday you will see my impression of whatever I got the day before around X time. It should be easy enough to do, and should make it easier for everyone else!
Things I would like to add:
Contests: While not always "hard" sometimes people just dont read or look into things too far... I had some keys to the tomb raider beta, and I gave them out!
Me: Full game
Brit: Full game
Olly: Beta key
Ben: Beta key
GU: Beta key
I hate noobs: Beta key
Vcotson: Beta key
Ryan: Beta key
Now some like ben would have got in later on, and thats cool too (I guess) but for the most part I get into a lot of these beta's...
Mag/LBP/Dead Space 2/Dead Nation/Battlefield/Uncharted/Assassins creed 3 (offered)/Medal of Honor/Mod Nation/Tomb Raider/Lost Planet 2/etc
But I rarerly play the games, so Ideally I would just give out the keys... Personally past LBP I dont care to play the beta, I mean DS 2 was cool but lets face it... ZZZ boring after a while, but others have been playing nonstop which is cool for them. So these amung other things I would love to give out!
Import Raffle: I think I mentioned this ONCE on my blog... The plan was to just accept donations, and move that money to importing a game. While this sounds "costly" its really not too bad if you know what you're doing! I happened to get gundam 0081 for 32 usd shipped. This wasnt too bad, and ideally I would like to make everyone somewhat happy!
Since a great deal of what this blog is about, is smaller "niche" or low key games like spelunker, I thought it would be cool to open the site up to accepting donations, then once I did my things with the game...

I would raffle it off, lets say 1 usd = 1 ticket, this might sound more complex than wanted but if 37 people donated 1 usd total to me, I would buy gundam 0081! Once I finished? bam 1:37 odd of winning... which is like 2.6% while low, it could still get you a game. From there I would pay shipping, and maybe toss in an extra thing or 2 (I got a bunch of toys and promo items I rather give away than toss XD) then that person would enjoy their game + something to help them play for 1 usd.
For those less thrilled about JP games, its not that bad... its all rather basic really o.x
Gundam 0081:
menus = english
story = gundam UC (most dont know what that is so it would be confusing reguardless)
mission points marked
online doesnt require you to know shit
etc
No more heroes:
menus = english
story = english/japanese (its swapable)
objective = japanese, but its rarerly complex
how to advance in story = get money, pay at the ATM, go to the hotel, follow the marker
either or, anyone shouldnt have too many if any problem playing the game! naturally if someone donates a lot and loses, maybe I will have a small loser raffle and offer up a personal prize, might be big or small depends on when... I mean I got games I want, and things I dont need like a spare BD remote still packaged XD, and uncharted 1 package (yes some people didnt play it) so it wouldnt be like you got shafted either =3!!!
Odds are this wont happen... but I would love to see it happen ^^;;
Blog Game day: Once every set period of time, I would enjoy having a game day, or a few rounds. Could be a game being released like castle crashers, could be something older like spelunnker, or even something special like I might obtain/buy CoD Black ops for it. Who knows but I think it would be fun =3
Things you wont see:
Reviews: Read the Dead Rising 2 one listed above... lets face it once someone reviews something, its so very objective to what gets mentioned if anything... I happened to not know that you could reload in Just Cause 2, same with other reviewers leaving things out or not saying them. you will get an impression but I dont want to say this game is a 10/10 or a 1/10 thats up to you to decide. I get tired of people basing so much off it, and if I give something a low score it might not mean much/have little logic to it.
Example:
I hated the gameplay of bioshock
Loved the art
Loved the story
Loved the collectable aspects
Disliked some controls
5/10... Loved 2 Hated 2... seems like a logical 5 to me, no? but come on the game is worth playing, and its hard to go OMG you should play it, even if its a 5... it just sends mixed signals, such as in the DR 2 review "Riddled with flaws such as graphical setbacks" Yet it remains an 8...
Moderation: I dont really plan on silencing anyone, unless its something I have to. you're free to disagree, and I will always encourage people posting their 2 cents, even if its just "you suck vic" lol
As I said last time, this is a better idea of what I am talking about, as per always just give me your 2 cents! :3
"Why not just re-vamp this and change it to how u "want" it to be? 2 blogs seem too much in terms of accessibility (altho id check both equally same), someone might just visit one more than the other? Dead Space 2 BETA!
We all know, I dont care for beta's usually... Idk I wasnt interested in Dead Space when I heard of it, and lets face it... its not that amazing! Now I was somewhat excited for 2 since we also get extraction! but today we got a beta (ok its a fancy demo =\, so sooner or later you WILL get to play it) now lets talk about it!
This is just the multiplayer, you CAN level... Not sure how high, in 2 games I hit level 2 almost 3, but all the shown weapons list "unlock level 99" now I only played 2 games and this is really just to inform people of it. I doubt I will come back to correct this either. sorry.
about the beta!
It is not account locked, so you can play it if you can download it!
it plays a LOT like the single player! you either play "solider" or monster. Think singularity but only the humans are universal. you can change your weapons theres a spring board and of course the plasma cutter but you start with the machine gun.
it appears you can use status, and a lot of the things from SP appear in the MP like lighted path to where you go, your life is based off your back (creatures dont get a life bar I dont think...) you can pounce kill with the creatures and then theres an event, where either you kill him or he kills you.
creatures are cool because ANY opening that can open, you CAN spawn there where as humans start at one point.
while it is really fun, the screen is vastly empty thing wise... Idk it looks odd not seeing ammo/life/map/score/time/etc... theres nothing o.x... the weapons list the ammo, and the back has your life. I could go into this, but think SP with some minor MP tweaks. you CAN play the big 3 monsters (the tall guys, the kids, and the guys with the things coming out their backs)
Overall, I would like to see more menus but this is an EARLY beta, its quite fun, and I strongly suggest you try it if you like it. on the other hand, dont expect modern warfare replayablity! the creatures are a lot better overall (easier to level with too) but you will find yourself finding it cool, but it feels like humans are at such an disadvantage you will nearly always lose making replayability limited (in my eyes). on a final note, unlike bioshock 2 which was a nice try at a good SP with a poor try at MP (though the hacked device things was an epic try) this is atleast worth the effort, and a good change of pace!
This is just the multiplayer, you CAN level... Not sure how high, in 2 games I hit level 2 almost 3, but all the shown weapons list "unlock level 99" now I only played 2 games and this is really just to inform people of it. I doubt I will come back to correct this either. sorry.
